President's Corner by Buckle
Taa Daa… Isn’t that what you say at the end of an act? It’s hard to believe that 2 years have come and gone since I became the president of our alley. We have done a lot of charitable works, made a positive contribution to the area, as individuals, and as an alley, oh yes, we also hosted a successful convention for the Texas Clown Association. We did all this while having fun (hopefully) at the same time. It has been a jam-packed 2 years, and I am proud of what we have accomplished. I would like to thank the alley for having the confidence in me in electing me as the leader of this group two years ago, at the same time you chose a lot of people that made my job a lot easier. With that, I want to express my thanks to the Clowns who served on the board of directors for our alley while I was president, I cannot thank you enough for all the ideas, enthusiasm, support, and just plain hard work you contributed to the alley the last two years. I also want to thank all the Clowns that helped host the convention this last fall, The success of that endeavor was a result of the contribution made by all of us as a group, each individuals input was important to the end result, all were recognized and appreciated. I hope to see all of you at the meeting this month, it should be a lot of fun. Colters is catering the meal, we will have a puppet show put on by Susan and Tricia, and Maggie is bringing her bells for entertainment, along with lots of time for socializing. We will try to keep the business meeting as short as possible but there are some things we need to attend to. This month we have to install the officers elected for next year. We need to present the annual alley awards. We also have an item of business I forgot to bring up last month, which is our Christmas contribution to a needy family. This is an alley tradition, I believe we have made this donation every year I have been a member. I can’t believe I forgot to bring it up last month, but it’s not too late, we still have time as the meeting is almost a week prior to the holiday. I have also had a former member of our alley suggested as this year’s recipient. Their pride and possible embarrassment won’t permit me to name names, but I agree that they could use, and would really appreciate our help. Let’s Show our Christmas spirit and help someone less fortunate again this season. I hope all the members of alley 85 give their full support to the newly elected board if directors, if you do the alley can only thrive. MERRY CHRISTMAS P.S. thanks for allowing me to serve you. |
