           Anniversary Slide Show

Part of the Alley’s 30th Year Celebration will be a slide show of clown pictures (what else would it be?).  Help Tricia Gregory create it by contributing your photos. She wants pictures….. lots of pictures!!!   She especially would like pictures of past Alley events, pictures of old clowns (hey, that’s almost all of us), pictures of new clowns, and pictures of past members.   She also would like pictures showing each member’s development as a clown.  Dig out that first picture of you as a clown and others later on.  Hanky will do  “before and after” segments to demonstrate our growth as clowns! Bring you photos to the July meeting or get them to Hanky by e-mail or snail mail.  Be sure to put your name and address on the back so she can return them to you.

June Meeting Minutes

The June meeting was called to order at 7:10 p.m. Susan announced that there would be skit practice for the Aug. 4th show immediately following the meeting if possible. Guests for the evening included Mary Ann Hribek from Plano; Mandy Ford (formerly from Italy) who now lives in Bedford and is a COAI member; Edna and 'Happy Face'.     Martha Warren took minutes in the May meeting and those minutes will be published in the next Joey Jabber. The alley anniversary party to be held on August  21st   was discussed and planned. Sharon Hodges is in charge of decorations; Tricia Gregory is doing a slide presentation; Jim Franklin is designing the invitations; and Colter's Barbeque will provide the feast at no charge to guests.  The theme was discussed and chosen; it is "A Star is Born"! Desserts will be furnished by alley members and Jeannette Sanders is in charge. A long past president - Rosalee Perryman - will talk about how clowning used to be! Also, some charter members will embellish us with their stories or embellish their stories for us!          On June 29th from 7:00-9:30 at the church, David Bartlett will present a program on Clowning. There will be no charge for members and $5.00 for guests.         During National Clown week on Saturday, August 4th, the alley will present a clown show at Town East mall at 1:00! All members are encouraged to participate. The TNT Clown Convention will be held at the Hurst First Baptist Church on Friday and Saturday, August 10th and 11th. Mid-Cities alley will host the hospitality room at the TCA Convention in Houston on Friday night during the convention. Lana Sue Fridge moved that up to $200.00 be made available for snacks and Ed Fitzgerald seconded.         The date of an Advanced Clowning class taught by Susan Keys was discussed, but no firm date is yet available. Diane Willis moved that the meeting be adjourned and Joe Shamburger seconded; motion passed. Following tasty refreshments, our own awesome 'Tako the Clown' presented a dynamic show entitled "Tutti-Frutti"!                      JOYFULLy submitted,   Lana Sue Fridge

John Hunter

July’s education program is...Snake Talk, a set of two presentations that John Hunter gives to churches, schools and scout troops.  Since 1980 John has worked to dispel myths and educate people on how to respect snakes, not fear them.  One presentation he gives is called “Living Vinyl”, the other “God’s Design”.  John tries to entertain as well as educate his audience.
