Gracias Thanks to everyone who participated in the Women's Auziliary to Children's Medical Center Family Night at Six Flags. We all had a great time and hopefully the extra cash we made, $100.58, will buy a few toys for the playrooms at the hospital. We had a wonderful giggle of clowns present:

President's Corner ENTHUSIASM, Where in the world would we be without it? With enthusiasm, a person with little talent, skill or training can accomplish great things! Enthusiasm can, and will make up for a lack of aptitude for many tasks, it can also trick someone into believing they can do anything. Most often, enthusiasm is the only factor between success and failure. First-of-May Clowns seem to have an abundance of enthusiasm. I believe it’s because everything is new and exciting for them, very few things in routine adult life are remotely related to the life of a clown. I don’t believe in my non-clown life that I have ever been asked to put on make-up, dress in miss-matched clothes, go out in public to make people smile and hopefully laugh out loud. When someone enters new and unfamiliar territory, enthusiasm for the endeavor will be all they need to get through. Seasoned clowns don’t have the luxury of “new and exciting” experiences. We experienced clowns ( I hesitate to say old) think we have seen and done it all. It may be harder for us to muster up adequate enthusiasm for the task we are faced with. Now is when our training helps us, when we were new-be clowns we learned how to deal with unexpected problems. We learned how to handle unruly kids (no matter how old they were). We learned through experience, how to make people laugh, how to entertain with no props, how to be a professional in our appearance and attitude. I have been a clown for a lot of years. I have been both, a no talent all enthusiastic clown and a skilled sometimes unenthusiastic clown. I can honestly say clowning is easier if you do it with enthusiasm. The public can smell unenthusiastic. They can tell if you are just going through the motions, or if you are genuinely excited about what you are doing. So if you want to have more fun in your clowning, make the times you are a clown go faster, and have more pleasant memories of the event or party you attend, the last thing you should put on as you walk out your door is your ENTHUSIASM! Most people were in the back of the room looking at all the intriguing items Francisco "Tako" Juarez had for sale. Secretary is AWOL Loppo is moving to Huntsville. Her husband got a job as a prison guard. Hopefully he will get transferred here to the Metroplex. Miss Cookie is sitting in, so excuse any errors. She is attention challenged! Buckle opened the meeting introducing new guests..there were a handful: Fluffy brought her grandson, Brent; Squeakers the Clown; Nancy Winkler, Cozy the Clown; Dora, Sparkle the Clown; Sylvia, Snickers the Clown; Doug & Cheryl Lankford from All American Balloon; Estrella; Vanessa, Bubby the Clown; Edna, Tattis the Clown; and Iaasc, Little Light the Clown. Hopefully I didn’t miss anyone, my apologies if so! Buckle asked for a sick call: Ed’s leg is a bummer and he was on crutches, Miss Cookie had footies worked over, both feet no less, if you gotta do it, might as well go all the way, LanaSue is feeling better, and Dubble Bubble had surgery and is also feeling better. And on a more serious note, Ruthie Mae lost her father. Our deepest condolences. Ruthie Mae is asking for spotlighters-----Please clowns come forward and write up a piece about yourselves and let her know. Treasurer report printed and read There was a motion by Juba Lee and was 2nd by Nuttmegg that the treasurer’s report printed and was ok. Old Business DooWat talked about the audition at the Texas Ranger Stadium. There were 10 clowns who attended: DooWat, Dubble Bubble, WT, Miss Cookie, Grandadee, Posie, Miracle, JubaLee, Dusti, and Hanky. Unfortunately Hanky had to leave before our performance started, and she was the only one who could sing!! We all looked good tho! DooWat announced we are waiting for results..no contacts, someone from the stadium will contact her. So we all are in denial, standing by, and waiting for acceptance!! It was brought up that maybe we could sing for Nat’l Clown Week..altho, Rangers aren’t there that week??? Remains to be seen. We all did get 2 tickets to the Ranger game. So it’s being worked out to all go together. St Patrick’s Day Parade was attended by Dubble Bubble, WT, and Brewser, who in fact is WT’s chihuhua. They had a great time. Brewser was a big hit. It was a shorter parade this year. Six Flags Family Fun Nite is Fri night, April 7 from 5-8..looking for clowns to do balloons and walk around. This is benefiting Children’s Hospital and excepting donations for toys. Cindie Sanders says “It is not a good idea to ride the roller coaster with a wig on or have money and a cell phone in your pockets. Yes, she lost it all, but later got her wig back!! A lesson well learned!!! Fashion Show will be Fri, April 21, 9am Fancy luncheon fundraiser for cancer kids with escorts of fancy people. The clowns entertain the kids. New Business Correction to the Joey----Carl (Topper the Clown) won’t be here for the April meeting. But the graduation class will be instead. Stay tone for some great acts!!
