September Minutes

President Susan Keys called the meeting to order at 7:15.  There were lots of guests that evening excited about the newest UTA clown class's upcoming show and graduation! We had one visiting clown, Peggy Barton.     Treasurer David Griffith was out of town, so Lana Sue Fridge read the treasurer's report. Upcoming programs for alley meetings were announced. They are "Magic Ideas" for October; Susan and Ed's popular "Cheap Tricks" in November; the Christmas Party in December; and "Feeling Skittish" in January.

Tricia Gregory is currently putting the "picture slide presentation" from the alley reunion together on two DVD's. The cost for both will be $30.

Discussion followed concerning a $2500 CD in alley funds. The committee chosen to look for the "best deal" is Earl and Martha Warren, Susan Keys, and Tricia Gregory. A liquid CD earning 4% with no fee and funds available anytime was discussed with $1000 going into the alley checking account. Debbie Davis moved to put $2500 on-line with WAMU.  Tricia Gregory seconded. Diane Willis suggested that the motion be tabled while more shopping for the best rates is done. It was agreed.

Old Business: the TJAM was great; the TNT convention was awesome;  the Advanced Clowning class at UTA needs more students, and on Sept. 26th the TCA Convention will be held in Houston.

New Business included that volunteers are needed for the nominating committee for alley officers; and One-Way Street Puppet workshop will be on Oct. 5th and 6th in Cedar Hill.

At 7:40, Diane Willis moved that the meeting be adjourned and Tricia seconded. Following delicious refreshments and a graduation cake, UTA's newest clown class presented an outstanding evening of skits and received diplomas. This was a class full of very talented first-of-Mays!

                                                                                 Joyfully Submitted,

                                                                                            Lana Sue Fridge
